Gold Ice shines at Regionals

Posted: Feb 7, 2014

Another successful weekend for Gold Ice at the 2014 Central Regional Synchronized Skating Championships in Waterloo, ON.

The Elementary team entered the competition favourites for a medal and did not disappoint. In a very close competition, Gold Ice came home with a silver medal, improving on their third place finish from the 2013 season.

In the highly competitive Novice category, Gold Ice had two clean skates, including a personal best score of 54.70, and finished a tight 4th place overall. This placement qualifies them for the 2014 Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships in Burnaby, BC this month.

The always entertaining Open team won the first skate and came back after some challenges in the second skate with a personal best score of 78.92 and the silver medal overall. They will also be going for Gold in Burnaby this February.

Finally the Adult 3 team had two great performances, winning the gold medal and were crowned the 2014 Central Regional Champions!

As the season comes to a close, Gold Ice would like to welcome friends, fans, and family to join us this Sunday, February 9th for an afternoon of skating featuring 4 of our teams as well as Skate Canada Brampton Chinguacousy Academy and Starskate skaters. We would also like to welcome special guests from the East Gwillumbury Skating Club, Mid Ice Crisis and Shiver. Tickets are $5 at the door and the show begins at 12:00pm. See you there!
