Last weekend 5 of our teams headed to Aylmer, Ontario to compete in the 2019 Skate Ontario Regional Synchronized Skating Championships. This competition serves as a qualifier for the Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships for Intermediate, Open, Novice, Junior and Senior teams.
On Friday night the Juvenile team kicked things off with a great skate and a personal best score. After a few errors in the second skate the team was thrilled to stand on the podium once again winning the bronze medal.
Our Pre-Juvenile team showed grit and perseverance battling through two difficult skates. One competition does not define a season and we are proud of their determination. They are looking forward to training hard in preparation for SynchroSkate in Ottawa and the Skate Ontario Provincial Championships.
The Novice team was eager to show off their hard work since SynchroFest. Some technical errors held them back from receiving seasons best scores however they are very proud of the silver medal finish. Next up for the Novice team is the national championships in Waterloo, Ontario February 22nd – 24th.
Coming off a personal best skate and score at SynchroFest, our Pre-Novice team had their sights set on a podium finish in what is a very competitive category. A stunning first skate earned the team a new personal best and landed them in first place going into the final event. After a rough start in the second skate, the team finished strong and earned the bronze medal overall. This is a huge achievement for a team that had to recruit heavily in the summer in order to have enough members to form a team. We are very proud of their determination and success so far this season.
On Sunday our Adult 3 team was excited to compete their New York Program one last time this season. They had an excellent skate and finished off the competition in 8th place out of 14 teams.
Next up our Novice and Junior teams are preparing for the Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships and the rest of our teams are looking forward to a trip to Ottawa for SynchroFest.
