Jessica Brown: Head Coach
Gold Ice is excited to have head coach and synchro director Jessica Brown back for another successful season.
Jessica is an NCCP National Certified coach. She coaches all disciplines and levels of figure skating and has been coaching with Gold Ice since 2006. Jessica is pleased to carry on the legacy that Gold Ice founder Wendy Coates began in 2001.
Her achievements as a synchronized skater include several world and international medals with Gold Ice Junior and was a National Team Member with Skate Canada for 3 years. Her skating and synchro background is extensive: A competitive synchro skater for 12 years from the Novice to Senior level. Jessica is a graduate of Sheridan Collage and has a diploma in Social Service Work. She enjoys working with skaters of all ages and abilities and loves passing on her passion and knowledge of the sport to all her teams.
In 2007 Jessica coached the Gold Ice Novice competitive team to a Silver medal performance at nationals in her first year of coaching. The next season her Novice competitive team won the National Championships. Over the past 9 years, Jessica has been able to coach various Gold Ice teams to Regional and National titles each and every Season. In 2009 she brought several Gold Ice alumni out of retirement to form the Open team which has since won 2 silver and 5 bronze medals at the Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships. Jessica is looking forward to another successful season.

Andrea Nesbitt: Coach
Andrea is pleased to be back coaching with Gold Ice for a 10th season.
A Nationally Trained coach, Andrea has been coaching synchronized skating since 2005. Highlights of her coaching career include the an undefeated 2018 Juvenile season, 2018 Junior National bronze medallists and 2019 Novice National bronze medallists.
A double gold test skater, Andrea has 24 years of experience as a synchronized skater and has won 8 national medals including 2 golds.
Aside from coaching Andrea shares her passion for running, health and fitness as a Personal Trainer, Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Run Coach. She has completed a total of 8 marathons including 4 Boston Marathons.

Ashley Greenhalgh: Coach
With 15 years of competitive synchronized skating under her belt, Gold Ice is thrilled to have Ashley on the coaching staff for the 2019-2020 season!
Ashley is an NCCP National Certified coach and has been coaching all disciplines of figure skating since 2011.
A quad gold test skater and former pairs skater, Ashley and her partner were crowned Pre-Novice and Novice Sectional Champions. Ashley got her start in Synchronized Skating on the Brampton Littlest Angels Juvenile team and was a member of the very first Gold Ice team in 1999-2000. With the Junior team, Ashley won Gold Ice’s first national title in 2003. Ashley was a part of the 2008-2009 Nexxice Senior team that was crowned National and World Champions. For her achievements as a part of Nexxice, she has been inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame and the Skate Canada Hall of Fame. In total she has 3 national medals at the Junior and Senior levels and 5 national medals with Gold Ice Open.
Gold Ice’s resident technician, Ashley specializes in power, edge, and turn development. She also coaches competitive Ice Dance and Pairs teams that have found success winning several medals, including the the 2017 Skate Canada National Championships Junior Pair bronze medalists.
Ashley has 19 years of experience working with children in various athletic programs.

Nobahar Dadui: Flexibility and Movement
Rachael Cormier: Flexibility and Movement
Rachael Cormier has been teaching recreational and competitive dance for over 8 years. Her choreography and dancers have won several overall and special awards throughout her time teaching. She has taught many flexibility and strength training classes throughout her time as a dance teacher and never fails to combine the joys of fitness with new skills to challenge her students. Cormier is also a former competitive gymnast, awarded with a variety of medals including most improved and top floor routine.
In June of 2018, she completed an honours degree from York University, studying Health & Society alongside, Kinesiology & Health Studies. Rachael is currently in her second year of graduate studies, completing a Master of Teaching program at the University of Toronto. A focus on health and education has provided Rachael with an understanding for the short- and long-term impacts of adult to child and child to child relationships. She uses this knowledge inside of the studio to ensure her participants have an environment that includes positivity and inclusivity, while also using her sports background to intertwine the importance of motivation, safety and discipline. Rachael invests herself in the progression of her students and challenges them to become the best version of themselves, both in sport and in life.
Kyle Paraggua: Strength and Conditioning
Kyle Paraggua is the Director and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at KP Strength & Performance. Certified through the NSCA and Precision Nutrition, Coach Kyle is known for his detailed and results-driven training and for his complete dedication to his clients as he purposefully sets out to help them feel, look and perform better.
Coach Kyle is a graduate of Humber College’s Health and Fitness program. After receiving his diploma, he went on to York University for the Kinesiology and Health Science program.
Since taking early action and stepping into the industry; Kyle’s experience includes working with Team Canada’s World Champion figure skaters, professional and semi-professional athletes, and youth athletes and teams. He also trains regular gym-goers and fitness enthusiasts, and leads weekly speed-and-strength camps.
Kyle believes in combining real world experience and a research-based approach to movement, injury-prevention, and performance enhancement to stay in the foreground of strength training. Whether he is leading an athlete to maximize their performance or motivating online coaching clients through positive and in-depth feedback, Kyle genuinely cares about helping his clients excel in their pursuits. Through every session, Kyle provides athletes with a wealth of knowledge and an amazing training experience.
Outside of the gym, Kyle is a husband and father of two. He enjoys spending time with family, reading books, and playing basketball.
Maysie Poliziani: Fitness and Conditioning
Fiona Meikle: Mental Performance Consultant
Fiona is a professional member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association and has been providing mental performance support to athletes, performance artists, the military and businesses since 2010. After obtaining her Masters in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology, Fiona worked as a Sport Psychology Intern at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff for two and a half years. After a highly successful internship, Fiona was kept on as an external consultant and provided support to Team Wales athletes in the lead up to and during the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Fiona worked with Team Wales athletes for over eight years, travelling to training camps and competitions throughout the U.K. and Europe to support athletes, working with some of the countries best athletes and coaches.
In November 2017, Fiona moved to Canada and started up her own business as a self-employed Mental Performance Consultant. Fiona is currently a contractor for the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario and works with Canadian Olympic and Paralympic teams, supporting them in their preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Games and beyond.
Fiona has worked successfully with over thirty different sports including hockey, swimming, triathlon and soccer. Fiona works with athletes of all ages and abilities, from as young as 11 years to over 60, and from grass-roots to professional, and specializes in providing support to elite and professional athletes. She has worked with athletes and coaches who have competed in European and World Championships, as well as Commonwealth, Olympic and Paralympic Games. She also specializes in working with college athletes and has completed training as a Talented Athlete Lifestyle Advisor, enabling her to support college athletes who are aiming to succeed in both their academic and sporting careers.
