Maysie Poliziani: Fitness

Maysie Poliziani is a coach at the Skate Canada Brampton Chinguacousy skating club where she coaches athletes both on and off the ice. She grew up being a competitive figure skater herself, from the age of three until the present. Maysie started her competitive career at the Pre-Juvenile level, competing her way up to Senior Women. She represented Skate Ontario at many Skate Canada Challenge events, as well as Skate Canada Nationals.

Two of her favourite career highlights are winning the Silver medal at the Skate Canada National Figure Skating Championships out and qualifying to compete at her first Senior Nationals in Vancouver in the Olympic qualifying year (2018).

One of her favourite aspects about being a competitive skater was not only the on ice elements and competitions, but the preparation in getting herself into top shape by putting in the work off the ice in the gym. Before she came into the rink, Maysie was in the gym for 2 hours every morning working on her strength and endurance. Through all the sweat, and hours training in the gym, Maysie found a new love for not only training herself, but training other athletes striving for the same goals. She is a personal trainer and currently working for Gold Ice and Skate Canada Brampton Chinguacousy as the strength and endurance coach. Maysie loves working with Gold Ice and being able to push the teams to reach their full potential physically as well as being apart of the positive team atmosphere.
