Jessica Brown: Head Coach
Gold Ice is excited to have head coach and synchro director Jessica Brown back for another successful season.
Jessica is an NCCP National Certified coach. She coaches all disciplines and levels of figure skating and has been coaching with Gold Ice since 2006. Jessica is pleased to carry on the legacy that Gold Ice founder Wendy Coates began in 2001.
Her achievements as a synchronized skater include several world and international medals with Gold Ice Junior and was a National Team Member with Skate Canada for 3 years. Her skating and synchro background is extensive: A competitive synchro skater for 12 years from the Novice to Senior level. Jessica is a graduate of Sheridan Collage and has a diploma in Social Service Work. She enjoys working with skaters of all ages and abilities and loves passing on her passion and knowledge of the sport to all her teams.
In 2007 Jessica coached the Gold Ice Novice competitive team to a Silver medal performance at nationals in her first year of coaching. The next season her Novice competitive team won the National Championships. Over the past 9 years, Jessica has been able to coach various Gold Ice teams to Regional and National titles each and every Season. In 2009 she brought several Gold Ice alumni out of retirement to form the Open team which has since won 2 silver and 4 bronze medals at the Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships. Jessica is looking forward to another successful season.

Andrea Nesbitt: Coach
Andrea is pleased to be back coaching with Gold Ice for a 9th season.
A Regional Certified coach, Andrea has been coaching synchronized skating since 2005. Highlights of Andrea’s coaching career include the 2011 Juvenile and Novice Central Regional Champions, the 2015 Central Regional Juvenile Champions, and the 2017 Winterfest Juvenile Champions.
A double gold test skater, Andrea has 18 years of experience as a synchronized skater and has won 8 national medals including 2 golds.
Aside from coaching Andrea shares her passion for running, health and fitness as a Personal Trainer, Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Run Coach in the GTA. She has completed a total of 8 marathons including 4 Boston Marathons.

Ashley Greenhalgh: Coach
With 15 years of competitive synchronized skating under her belt, Gold Ice is thrilled to have Ashley back on the coaching staff for the 2017-2018 season!
Ashley is an NCCP National Certified coach and has been coaching all disciplines of figure skating since 2011.
A quad gold test skater, Ashley got her start in pairs and is a former Pre-Novice and Novice Pair sectionals champion. Ashley was a member of the 2009 Nexxice Senior team that was crowned National and World champions. In 2010 she was inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame for her achievements in the sport. Recently, in February of 2016 she was inducted into the Skate Canada Hall of Fame as a part of the first Synchronized Skating Team to receive this honour.
Gold Ice’s resident technician, Ashley specializes in power, edge, and turn development. She also coaches competitive Ice Dance and Pairs teams that have found success winning several medals, including the the 2017 Skate Canada National Championships Junior Pair bronze medalists.
Ashley has 16 years of experience working with children in various athletic programs.

Nancy Alexander: Technical Consultant and Choreography
As an NCCP Level 4 coach, Nancy brings with her many years of expertise and success at both the national and international level. Under her guidance, Nancy’s teams have been on the national podium several times including 5 consecutive Novice national titles. In 2014, she coached Les Pirouettes Junior to a 5th place finish at the ISU World Junior Challenge Cup.
A leader in the sport of synchronized skating, Nancy delivers several seminars each year across the country. In addition to coaching both singles skaters and synchronized skating teams, Nancy is a Kinotherapist and works with high performance athletes including several Olympians.
Nancy will be consulting with our coaches and teams on choreography, performance, and interpretation.
Lisa Patreau: Coach (Adult 1)
Lisa is very excited to be coaching with Gold Ice. She has been involved in Synchro for 30 years, 20 of those years competitively.
Synchro, or Precision as it was called when she started, began for her in Leaside until she moved to Whitby and skated for Ice Fyre (Jody Jones). Lisa also skated for black ice (Cathy Dalton), and ended her Senior competitive career with Fusion (Jody Jones). She coached at Leaside for 6 years with the Elementary, Novice and Junior teams along side Meredith Tutching and Jen Williams. Lisa has coached Gold Ice Adult 1 (formally known as Eclipse) since it’s inception in 2013.
Lisa is thrilled to bring the experience she has acquired both as a skater and a coach to the Gold Ice Adult 1 Synchronized Skating team. She is very passionate about this sport and hopes that she can share that through hard work and a lot of fun.

Cristina Paige: Movement and Dance
Cristina has been dancing for over thirty years, and teaching for over 16 years. Growing up, she competed nationally and has since gone on to perform and choreograph internationally.
Cristina holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from York University, where she focused part of her studies on dance pedagogy and dance science. Through this, she discovered her passion for helping students develop more efficient and safe ways of moving.
Kyle Paraggua: Strength and Conditioning
Kyle Paraggua is the Director and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at KP Strength & Performance. Certified through the NSCA and Precision Nutrition, Coach Kyle is known for his detailed and results-driven training and for his complete dedication to his clients as he purposefully sets out to help them feel, look and perform better.
Coach Kyle is a graduate of Humber College’s Health and Fitness program. After receiving his diploma, he went on to York University for the Kinesiology and Health Science program.
Since taking early action and stepping into the industry; Kyle’s experience includes working with Team Canada’s World Champion figure skaters, professional and semi-professional athletes, and youth athletes and teams. He also trains regular gym-goers and fitness enthusiasts, and leads weekly speed-and-strength camps.
Kyle believes in combining real world experience and a research-based approach to movement, injury-prevention, and performance enhancement to stay in the foreground of strength training. Whether he is leading an athlete to maximize their performance or motivating online coaching clients through positive and in-depth feedback, Kyle genuinely cares about helping his clients excel in their pursuits. Through every session, Kyle provides athletes with a wealth of knowledge and an amazing training experience.
Outside of the gym, Kyle is a husband and father of two. He enjoys spending time with family, reading books, and playing basketball.
