Successful weekend for Gold Ice at Bill Phillips

Posted: Dec 19, 2012

It was a successful weekend for Gold Ice at the Bill Phillips Memorial Invitational Competiton in Stratford. With three medals and great skates all across the board, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for Gold Ice!

First up was the Elementary team. After a few problems in the first skate the girls battled back from 7th place to take the bronze medal overall following a high energy second skate. The stands were rocking as the team do-si-doed their way through to the end of the program.

Next up was the Gold Ice Novice team excited to compete for the first time in this category. They finished  the weekend off with a strong second skate and are excited to continue to improve throughout the season.

The Intermediate team rocked both skates including an incredibly late night 10:35pm second skate. High energy all the way to the end – they won the silver convincingly and are looking forward to a successful second season.

To finish the weekend off the Open team won their third straight Bill Phillips gold medal with two strong skates and are looking forward to competing against a bigger field at Winterfest.

Congrats to all teams! Next stop is the SCBC Christmas Show on December 23rd as we prepare for Winterfest January 4th-6th in Mississauga at Iceland.
